001 — What Attaché actually is
Attaché is a cognitive offloading engine.
You open it, speak or type whatever is taking up space in your head — and the programming structures it into something coherent. It extracts what matters. Every morning it delivers something called The Daily Overture: an orientation to your day that reads your current state, surfaces what keeps recurring, and names the one thing that belongs on your desk right now.
Everything else is held. Not lost. Not demanding action. Held until the pattern data says it matters.
The longer you use it the smarter it gets. Every person, project, and idea mentioned across your entries becomes searchable, threaded memory. It knows what you’ve been carrying for six weeks even when you’ve forgotten.
The product’s most unusual feature: it actively tries to get you to close it. Every session ends with the same line:
Everything else is held. Go.
002 — Why Attaché exists
I kept losing the idea that mattered at eleven PM. Not because I wasn’t paying attention. Because I had nowhere to put it that I trusted would still be there in the morning.
I’ve spent most of my adult life running multiple tracks simultaneously — performing, directing, building, producing. The infrastructure for this kind of mind doesn’t exist. Every tool I tried was built for someone else. The linear thinker. The single-track professional. The person whose ambitions fit neatly inside a project management dashboard.
Mine don’t. Maybe yours don’t either.
What I kept looking for was something that understood the difference between a deeply felt creative desire and a car registration renewal. That could hold both without flattening either. That knew an unrealized idea deserves reverence — not a checkbox.
I wanted infrastructure with some romance in it. I couldn’t find it. So I built it.
003 — What Attaché is not
Not a calendar.
Not a task manager.
Not a habit tracker.
Not a system that requires setup before delivering value.
No red badges. No overdue labels. No guilt architecture. No engagement loops designed to keep you inside it longer than necessary
The product’s highest ambition is the moment you close it and walk back into your life.
004 — Where we are now:
The app is live and in testing. I’ve been using it to hold my own brain together while I build it, which is either very efficient or slightly insane — the jury is still out.
